AgTech or technology in agriculture has the potential to rapidly change the industry and contribute significantly to the challenge of increasing production to feed the growing population. It is reported that the agricultural industry output needs to increase by 60% by 2030. In order to meet this challenge farmers and advisors must capitalise on the significant and on-going investment in technology development, however identifying the best technologies and successfully implementing them on farm can be difficult.

AgLink Australia’s TechLink group actively sources emerging technologies and filters these opportunities to identify those that can help our farmer customers increase productivity and sustainability in an effective and efficient manner.

The group works with technology developers and manufacturers to assess and where appropriate refine the technology to ensure they meet the needs of growers and advisors and deliver real world benefits. Software and decision support platforms, IoT (field sensors and networks), satellite imagery and remote sensing are some of the many technologies the group is actively involved in.
